Lab Manager / UX Research Lead, May 2018 – October 2019

  • Project lead/manager for all research and testing, overseeing 17 student researchers.
  • Planned and executed usability/user tests and focus groups, including participant recruitment, journey mapping and persona development, data analysis, and writing final technical reports for clients.
  • Conducted accessibility evaluations to ensure compliance using assistive and non-assistive technologies.
  • Provided mockups/wireframes as recommendations for improvement following heuristic evaluations and testing.
  • Collaborated on research for publication and presented findings to colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Conducted heuristic evaluations of websites, accessibility evaluations of eTextbooks, and assisted with various research projects, both individually and collaboratively.

Learning and Development Special Projects – Human Factors, August 2018 – July 2019

• As part of thesis research, reviewed internal incident reports and conducted several rounds of Applied Cognitive Task Analysis to create an online training module aimed at improving performance of novice petrochemical refinery field operators.
• Presented findings to the Chevron Learning and Development management team and provided recommendations for improvement.

Women Engineers at the Beach, August 2017 – July 2019

Assisted with coordination and facilitation of the human factors workshop as part of a larger Society of Women Engineers event held twice a year on the CSULB campus for middle and high school girls. The human factors workshop consisted of an air traffic control simulation game and a NASA-designed paper airplane construction and flight competition.

Engineering Girls Internship Program, August 2017 – July 2019

Acted as student coordinator for the annual Engineering Girls Internship Program at CSULB. The program is a weekend-long event where 8th grade girls and a female guardian spend two nights in the campus dorms and participate in various engineering workshops. As student coordinator, I was responsible for scheduling applicant interviews, communicating with parents and collecting required forms, and facilitating the human factors workshops.
